Emergency Call from Shyampur Veterinary Hospital
We received an urgent call from the Veterinary Officer at Shyampur Hospital regarding a dog who had been shot. Without delay, I (Anuj) immediately reached the hospital.
When I saw him, he was calm, gentle, and extremely sweet despite being in severe pain. The bullet was lodged between the bones of his front leg, making movement almost impossible.
Bullet Injury in Dog: Critical Surgery Required
After examination, the doctors confirmed that the bullet was stuck deep between the front leg bones. Immediate surgery was necessary to save his leg and prevent life-threatening infection.
The surgery lasted for two hours.
Thankfully, the compassionate doctor performed the operation without charging any fees, showing true humanity toward animal life.
The bullet was successfully removed, and the wound was treated carefully.
One Month of Recovery and Care
After surgery, we brought the dog to our shelter for post-operative care. Recovery from a gunshot injury requires:
